General Courses

Avon Middle School offers a wide variety of classes to meet the needs of all students, whether the needs be identified for gifted education, general education, or special education services / courses.

All students are enrolled in the core-academic subjects. Thereafter, students can request and select from among several electives and, if they qualify, request and select honors courses (see tabs HONORS COURSES and ELECTIVE COURSES in this section for descriptions and details).

Some honors courses and general courses carry high school credits, in that the courses and grades appear on the high school transcript but the grades are not factored into the student's high school cummulative GPA (see SCHEDULING INFORMATION for more details).
