In a conscious effort to strive for innovation and excellence in education, Avon Local School District is committed to providing the best educational technology tools we can to enrich teaching and learning. All use of educational technology accounts, services, and applications are bound to the applicable Acceptable Use and Internet Safety board policy and regulations for Avon Local Schools.
Google Workspace for Education
Avon Local School District will provide and manage a Google Workspace for Education account for each student. Google Workspace for Education is a suite of education productivity tools that include Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Slides, Classroom, and more. In addition to the Google Core Services, we may also employ select Google Additional Services, such as Google Translate, to support accessibility and student learning. Students will use their Google Workspace for Education accounts to complete assignments, communicate with their teachers, sign into Chromebooks, and learn 21st century digital citizenship skills. These tools are used by millions of students and educators worldwide to enhance learning in a safe and structured way and provide opportunities to ensure real-world readiness and promote success in post-secondary pursuits and the workplace. Please note: Students in grades K-8 will have access to internal email only.

Clever
Students in grades Preschool-12 will have access to Clever. Clever is an online portal available 24/7 that allows students one-click access to many district curricular resources and textbooks.
- Our Clever portal is available everywhere online at https://clever.com/in/avonlocal.
- Students will be automatically signed into Clever if signed in to their school account on a Chromebook.
- On any other device, students click "Log in with Google" and sign in with their school Google account (ending in @avoneagles.org).
- Once students log in to Clever, they are logged into most curricular digital resources, eliminating the need to juggle multiple usernames and passwords. The school Google account is the one account that provides access to all through Clever.
- For students in preschool and kindergarten, we also use Clever Badges for an even smoother early learner login process. These Clever Badges are unique QR codes specific to each student that will allow login simply by holding the unique QR code up to the Chromebook camera (or any other device that has a camera). Read more about Clever Badges here if interested for home use.
Additional Educational Apps and Services
Our teachers and staff may also incorporate other online third-party applications and services to enhance and support curriculum. In addition to Google Core Services and select Google Additional Services, various classes will make use of additional educationally-relevant applications that have been professionally vetted for quality, appropriateness, and compliance with student data privacy laws. Programs in this category include interactive online textbooks from our board-approved curriculum, as well as applications such as Adobe Creative Cloud to support graphic design in select art courses and Code.org to support coding, programming, and robotics in our technology courses. The District also takes measures to ensure approved resources provide a safe and secure environment for our students.
All District-approved curriculum, testing, and assessment technology providers, along with specific details about their access to student education records and related student data privacy agreements, can be reviewed here at any time: https://sdpc.a4l.org/district_listing.php?districtID=4590.
